PURPOSE:

All nationalities have signs that reflect their local countries and the culture. As you study this unit, you will be introduced to signs for foods and for the various nationalities. You will also learn how to use distributional aspects of sign.

 
CULTURAL SPOT: ASL is not a universal language. Each country has their own variations of sign language, which may or may not use signs similar to those found in the United States.
