Course Description:

This course covers the skills and knowledge necessary for a person to be computer literate. It acquaints the student with computer terminology; problem solving techniques; what a computer does and how it does it; and software applications packages for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and Web browsing. Instruction includes lecture, hands-on exercises in an open laboratory environment, and research. The student will be exposed to a variety of subjects through the use of multimedia, the Internet, and interaction with other students. Grades will be based on two exams, homework/lab assignments and a course project.
