I primarily teach the computer fundamental and literacy courses. These consist of:

 • IS-120 Business Computer Use (3 credits) - a very introductory literacy course
 • IS-101 Survey of IT (2 credits) - not a literacy course, rather a planning course for all students seeking the IT Degree
 • IS-142 Hardware Fundamentals (3 credits) - recommended for the first quarter of the IT Degree
 • IS-143 Operating System Fundaments (2 credits) - recommended to take concurrently with IS-142
 • IS-144 Programming Fundamentals (3 credits) - recommended for the quarter prior to taking Visual Basic
 • IS-160 Internet Fundaments (1 credit) - how the Internet works and a business focus

The syllabi for these courses can be found on my website http://sfcc-iscs.us as well as course material for my current students. Program sheets and information about our degrees and certificates can be found here on the SFCC website. The most important step that needs to be taken if you have an interest in our programs is to talk with one of us in the ISCS Department. If you need to enroll in courses prior to talking with us take the IS-101 and as many of the fundamental courses as possible your first quarter. IT students do not need to take the IS-120 unless they are totally inexperienced with computers. If at all possible let us advise you so we can consider your experience and background to get you in the most productive classes we can. Call!!
